Change . . .
The one thing you can expect is change. Change is inevitable and constant.
The world changes, day into night, light to dark, moon phases and ocean tides. Seasons of hot to cold, and leaves from green, to yellow, orange, and red.
Snow melts; flowers bloom, then wither, and some seed to form new plants.
Dirt to asphalt, and fields to city skylines. Roads to highways & byways . . .
Babies, grow into children, and children grow up ~
Change can be difficult; difficult to accept and impossible to stop.
Yet, sometimes even more difficult to make happen.
The beginning of a New Year and people often want to make “Resolutions” for change. Habits, health, diet, time management, priorities and more.
Again, change is still happening, because if we do not change our habits, it can affect our health and change our waistlines. How we spend our time can abruptly come to a halt and bring our priorities to the forefront, as anyone who has experienced illness, or an accident of a loved one. In those immediate days, who really cares about work, shopping, etc. when all we want is time with them and for their healing!
Then things get back to “normal”. Yet, still something is different, something has changed, even if in thought?? Only you (and God) really know your thoughts.
Psalm 139:2b Lord, you discern my thoughts from afar.
What if we ask God, what He wants us to change?? New Year or not.
Ask Him, . . . listen & write it down.
Now, what if we ask Holy Spirit to strengthen us, to remember and follow through?
As we surrender our will, our agenda and Trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; 6 in all our ways acknowledge him, and he will direct our paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
I know what I want to change and what I think would be good for me.
1. Go to bed earlier
2. Get up earlier 🙂
3. Exercise more
What God is saying to me is live more intentionally with purpose, with my why??
1. Go to bed earlier - for better health, yes, but more importantly spend time with Him before bedtime, and in all my ways acknowledge Him , then I can
2. Get up earlier - to write out my (literal) dreams, worship and hang out with Him, and lean not on my own understanding, but trust Him for His agenda, and I will have more time to
3. Exercise - to keep His temple strong and healthy, to walk the paths He directs.
The only thing that does not change is the Trinity.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Malachi 3:6 I the LORD do not change.
Change is inevitable!
God is walking this life journey with you!
THIS YEAR, MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES THAT HONOR GOD!
Happy New Year!
