Embraced by Grace – Being Chosen by Jesus

In a world often driven by competition and comparison, the notion of being chosen can be both comforting and profound. As followers of Christ, we find solace in the truth that we are not just random selections; we are chosen by Jesus Himself.

John 15:16 (NIV): “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last…”

This verse encapsulates the essence of our relationship with Jesus. It’s not about our merit or accomplishments but about His grace and purpose. The God of the universe has personally selected each of us to be part of His divine family.

Jesus chose us out of love, not obligation. His selection is a reminder that we are valued, cherished, and worthy of His affection.

Being chosen comes with a calling. We are called to bear fruit—love, joy, peace, and kindness—in our daily lives. This fruit not only nourishes our spirits but also impacts those around.

We are not left to fulfill this calling on our own. Jesus equips us with the Holy Spirit, empowering us to live out our purpose and to share His love with others.

To embrace our identity as chosen ones, we must cultivate a mindset rooted in gratitude and purpose:

Gratitude: Spend time in prayer, thanking Jesus for choosing you. Reflect on how His love has transformed your life.

Purpose: Seek opportunities to bear fruit in your community—whether through acts of kindness, sharing your testimony, or serving others.
